Ike Ahmed, M.D, FRCS(C)

Chief Innovation Officer, Prism Eye Institute

Ike K. Ahmed is a fellowship-trained glaucoma, cataract, and anterior segment surgeon with a research and practice focus on the management of glaucoma, complex cataract and intraocular lens complications.

He practices and is board certified in ophthalmology in Canada and the USA and is an active member of numerous national and international societies.

Manjool Shah, M.D

Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Program Director of the Glaucoma Fellowship Program, NYU Langone

Manjool Shah serves as an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Program Director of the Glaucoma Fellowship Program at NYU Langone.

Prior to NYU Dr. Shah was on faculty at the Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan, serving as glaucoma fellowship director and medical director of the Division of Cataract, Glaucoma and Anterior Segment Disease.

Dr. Shah completed his residency training at the Casey Eye Institute and fellowship training in Glaucoma and Advanced Anterior Segment Surgery at the University of Toronto. He is active in teaching residents and fellows, as well as through his work on various clinical committees with the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS), American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and American Glaucoma Society (AGS).
Furthermore, Dr. Shah is passionate about global ophthalmology, and has lectured and taught surgery in Nigeria, Peru, Nepal, Kenya, and Jamaica.

His specialized interests include performing and teaching MIGS surgeries as well as traditional glaucoma surgeries, as well as the management of complex anterior segment challenges such as dislocated IOL’s, subluxated or complex cataracts, and pupil and iris anomalies.

Ticiana de Francesco, M.D

Ticiana De Francesco is a Brazilian double fellowship trained glaucoma specialist who is also completing a PhD in glaucoma surgery outcomes.

In 3 short years since completing her training, she has burst on the global scene becoming a leader in research, education and innovation.

She has already authored and published some of the key glaucoma surgical papers, and is actively involved in the design and monitoring of major clinical trials. Her research work includes pre-clinical studies on novel glaucoma therapeutics, and early human clinical trials.

She serves as a consultant to both large strategics and early start-ups, advising and shaping the field. Her passion is teaching, actively training residents and fellows, and is a much sought after speaker at meetings around the world.

Dr. De Francesco has become a highly skilled glaucoma and complex anterior segment surgeon, and has published novel techniques in these areas. But probably most notably she has become an inspiration to many young eye doctors around the world with her unique and humble style and persona.

Tosin Smith, M.D

Adjunct Associate Professor of Ophthalmology, UT Southwestern Medical College in Dallas

Oluwatosin Smith MD received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBBS) at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She completed a residency in Ophthalmology at Howard University Hospital where she served as Chief Resident and went on to the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA where she did her Fellowship in Glaucoma.

She is currently a partner Physician at the Glaucoma Associates of Texas and Adjunct Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the UT Southwestern Medical College in Dallas, Texas.
