With over 30 years’ experience in ophthalmology and a focus on medical and surgical retina, Professor Stanga is committed to advancing the realm of eye care and is dedicated to transforming lives through his pioneering work.

After leaving the NHS in 2019 after 21 years, Professor Stanga founded The Retina Clinic London, which houses a fully equipped operating theatre with onsite academic and research activities, including participation in industry sponsored clinical trials.

Matti Tyynilä

Director of optical operations, Chief Optometrist, Instru Optiikka Oy 

Matti Tyynilä graduated as an optometrist 30 years ago and since then has worked at Instru Optiikka, Espoo, Finland, where he has been at the centre of developments in the optical industry, focusing on eye examination devices, software, AI, and the use of digital solutions in optometry. Tyynilä has been a longstanding participant of optometry congresses around the world.

Ass.-Prof. Dr. Robert Kromer, FEBO, MBA

Deputy Medical Director, nordBLICK

Asst. Prof. Dr. Robert Kromer, FEBO, MBA, is an ophthalmologist and Deputy Medical Director at the nordBLICK Eye Clinic Bellevue in Kiel, Germany. He studied at the Universities of Heidelberg and Leipzig, and underwent advanced training at the University Hospitals of Hamburg-Eppendorf and Hannover, the Singapore National Eye Centre, and Moorfields Eye Hospital. Retinal imaging is a particular focus of Asst. Prof. Kromer’s clinical and scientific work, as well as vitreoretinal surgery.

Svein Tindlund

Head of Clinical Performance, Specsavers

Svein Tindlund worked as an optical engineer before completing an MSc at Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1999. He then moved into refractive surgery and managed one of the first laser surgery clinics in the Nordics, which is where he gained a strong interest in driving customer satisfaction via data on clinical quality.

Since 2017, Tindlund has worked in various roles for Specsavers Northern Europe. He is now Head of Clinical Performance for the Nordics and Netherlands.
